Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 to replace other funding streams to support disadvantaged pupils. When pupil premium was first introduced it was to support students on role who were receiving free school meals, children of service families and Looked After Children. From September 2012 it was increased to include ‘Ever6’ students, students who at any time in the past 6 years have been eligible for FSM.
As a PRU, Tor School only receives pupil premium for eligible students who are sole registered with us. This is because most students are dual registered with a mainstream school and it is the intention that they return to their mainstream school after their placement with us comes to an end or move to a new provision. Therefore the school tops up pupil premium and it is used to support the wider eligible pupils. As part of our rationale as a PRU we use all of our available resources to provide a personalised curriculum with specific targeted interventions for all of our pupils.
