RPE offers students the opportunity to explore beliefs, values and ethics whilst also developing a sense of respect for the communities in which we live. Alongside these issues, students will acquire an understanding of global affairs and have time to discuss moral issues and cultivate a sense of wellbeing.
All post 16 options welcome RPE as a GCSE because it shows that students are able to critically analyse information and write fluently.

RPE aims to provide a safe environment for students to explore and develop beliefs and values; it promotes the virtues of respect and empathy, which are important in our diverse society. It fosters civilised debate and reasoned argument, and helps pupils to understand the place of religion and belief in the modern world. Students will have the opportunity to practise critical thinking throughout the course.
|
RPE is delivered in a format of four sessions a week for the GCSE full course and three sessions a week for the GCSE short course. A multi faceted approach to learning is employed with blended learning, videos, independent learning and regular assessment being some of the tools used to deliver the course. |
Students have regular assessments to check for knowledge, understanding and application. Students can achieve the full range of GCSE Levels. |
Regular teacher feedback on what is going well and how to further improve will be shared with students and where appropriate personal tutors and parents/guardians. |
